“Birth is not only about making babies. It’s about making mothers — strong, capable mothers who trust themselves and know their inner strength.”

Doula Jane

Hi, I’m Jane!

I am a certified birth and postpartum doula and a lactation consultant, supporting families across the Bay Area. My approach is grounded in evidence-based practice, attentiveness, and respect for each family’s individuality. I believe birth is not just an event but a deep, transformative process where care, trust, and support are essential. Together, we will create an individualized birth plan and discuss everything that matters to you: how labor unfolds, options for comfort and pain relief, ways your partner can participate, what to expect in the hospital or at a home birth, and how to communicate with doctors and nurses. This preparation helps you feel confident and calm when the day comes to meet your baby. During labor, I help you find comfortable positions, use gentle touch and relaxation techniques, and create an atmosphere of calm, trust, and confidence. After birth, I remain available to help establish breastfeeding, support physical and emotional recovery, and find a sustainable rhythm with your newborn. I work with my backup doula, Daria—an experienced colleague with whom I share a unified approach and the same values. Having a backup doula gives you the assurance of continuous support and peace of mind.

Testimonials

“My experience with Jane and Dasha as my birth doulas was truly wonderful. From the very beginning, they created a calm and supportive atmosphere that helped me feel confident and in control throughout the entire process. Their kindness and encouragement made all the difference, and with their guidance, I was able to have an unmedicated birth that felt empowering rather than scary. Even after birth, their postpartum support has been incredibly helpful — they are always just a text or call away whenever I need advice or reassurance. I’m so grateful for their care, warmth, and dedication. I couldn’t have asked for a better team to be by my side during such an important moment.”

“I'm so grateful to Jane and Daria, who supported me throughout my journey into motherhood. Before labor, Daria and Jane held preparation classes for my husband and me, which helped us feel confident and understand what to expect. During the birth, thanks to their support, I was able to fully surrender to the process, knowing I was in safe and capable hands. They guided me through each stage, and I completely trusted their professionalism. After the birth, they helped me establish breastfeeding, recover physically, and shared so many helpful tips — from comfortable feeding positions to baby care and sleep routines. When I started to experience a blocked duct, Jane and Daria gave me practical advice that quickly helped me recover — I’m especially thankful for that!I’m truly happy that I had such warm, attentive, and professional support during this special time in my life.”

“Jane’s calm and grounding presence made an incredible difference during my labor. She seemed to intuitively know exactly when to step in with gentle words, touch, or guidance — and when to quietly step back, giving me space to listen to my own body. Her steady support helped me feel safe, confident, and deeply cared for throughout the entire birth. I couldn’t have imagined a more reassuring companion during such an important moment.”

Maria

“I can’t imagine how I would have managed the first weeks after birth without Jane’s support. She was truly a lifesaver during that tender, overwhelming time. From helping me find confidence in caring for my baby to gently reminding me to care for myself, Jane brought calm and warmth into our home. She supported me through sleepless nights, early breastfeeding challenges, and all the emotions of new motherhood with so much patience and kindness. Her presence made those first weeks not only easier but also more peaceful and meaningful.”
